My partner and I are in love and thinking of getting married for all the benefits we heard about. Is it worth it? What are the benefits for us?
We're both independent college sophomores
>for all the benefits we heard about.
>What are the benefits for us?
People like you shouldn't be breeding.
That's a pretty half baked question. We don't know any information about your relationship, or even what country you're in.

I meant what actually are the benefits and not the rumors

my bad, were both americans in our early 20s
we love eachother a lot, but we don't consider this our actual marriage

Yeah but the government would. Good luck dealing with any issues that come from being in a relationship in your early 20s when you're married.

like?

Well chances are you relationship is not going to last, and you're going to have a lot of fun sorting that shit out when you need to get a divorce.

You're right about the benefits, but it sounds kind of fishy. As if you were doing this solely to advance your wellbeing in a cold and calculated way, as opposed to making this decision because you want to spend the rest of your life with him.
If you do feel that way, however, it will only help. Married men earn more, a married couple with a high school degree and a job will almost impossibly become poor, housewives are happier than their working counterparts, and that's not even mentioning children.
