Apply A typical television newscast has three cameras. The center camera directly faces the news anchor’s desk. The other two cameras are both angled 45° away from the center camera. Suppose each camera has a field of 60°. What is the total angle covered by the three cameras? Explain your reasoning.
How would I do this problem without drawing it out?
Why not draw it out? You'll be sure, then.
First blush guess: 90°. Reason: 3x60° FoV of each camera, minus 2x45° rotation about focus (the front desk) due to overlap = 180 - 90 = 90°. However, I have done it in my head while being buzzed. Ergo, check it to be sure.
