i'm an 18 year old grill and i have a homozygous c677t MTHFR mutation.
before i begin, yes, it sounds like motherfucker
anyway, this mutation has caused numerous problems for me including severe anxiety disorders, major depression, chronic fatigue, andrenal fatigue, trouble conceiving, (i don't want kids but i've been told it will be hard to have kids/ i will miscarriage)
and the overall inability to remove heavy metals and toxins from my body
when researching this more, i found that taking birth control is terrible for your health if you have this. it apparently depletes folate levels even further.
i've been on the pill since 14 for cramps, acne, hormone balance and i don't see any problem with it
i asked my doctor if i should come off the pill because of the mutation and she had no idea what the fuck i was talking about
is anyone here familiar with the mutation and whether or not it's ok to take the pill with it?
a shot in the dark really but it doesn't hurt to try

Afaik the Pill fucks with folates anyway.
You know, you could make a decision on your own, just come off the pill (and if you're sexually active get something non-hormonal like a IUD).

Copper IUD
regular IUD still has hormones, copper does not.
