You're being driven by your ego. You may or may not want to even be in the medical field deep down. Zuckerburg and Musk probably LOVED what they were doing in school. It's not just latent talent. Just be sure your path is really yours, not just your egos.

So do something meaningful, like volunteering. But at the same time, be realistic about what you will probably achieve in life. For every person who is like those people you listed, there are literally tens, if not hundreds, of millions of people who have accomplished relatively less. Chances are, you'll be one of those millions.

This might be because of the need of appreciation of others. Doesn't matter.
But I mean, there greatness comes with the ability to do something better than everyone else, right, and that comes with a lot of practise. Practise needs a lot of love to do, cause it's repetitive.

So in the end you're right. I should stop the ego drive and just do what I enjoy, which is actually studying (I think).
