I went to bed last night at 2:00am and woke up today after 3:00pm. When I don't have responsibilities I often sleep for 10 to 14 hours at a time.
Why doesn't my body just wake up naturally after 6 to 8 hours of sleep? Is there something wrong here?

Maybe you're a bit depressed? Do you wake up after 8 hours of sleep and decide you're gonna sleep some more bc you don't feel like being awake?
Or maybe your blood pressure is naturally low? Exercise more then

you might have a depressed mood and slow metabolism. exercise and doing something you enjoy should clear it right up.

what kind of exercise do you guys have in mind? I do basic things like pushups and pull ups, but I haven't been doing anything aerobic or any serious weightlifting lately
I used to be like that, and it had to do with my really awful sleep schedule. Try going to bed every day at a regular time. If you go to bed at 10 p.m. one night, and then go to bed at 3 a.m. the next night, some days you'll end up being really tired and sleeping for a long time. once your body gets used to a regular schedule you'll find yourself waking up around the same time each morning and you'll be less tired.

You need something that will not only put your arms and legs to work but also your heart and lungs. I find group sports like soccer and basketball to be really good for both body and mind, but if you can't find a crew to play it with, I'd suggest riding a bicycle

yes. And because your sleep cycle is shit you need to force your body to correct it. Which means you get in bed every night at lets say 11 p.m. and try to fall asleep. Even if you're not tired and your body doesn't want to go to sleep. drink some tea, don't use electronics for 30 minutes prior to, take some melatonin if you have to. Eventually you'll get used to laying down and falling asleep at that time.
