Hey /adv/. This choice isn't fully reconciled in my mind, and though I start electrical later this year, I'm aware that I may be able to switch over to mech.
>what do?
Mechs can do pretty much anything, bar most electrical stuff, and Electrical dudes are pretty much limited to electricity, which is in itself a huge field. I loved the work and calculations for it, as well as the chance to work in energy in the future.
But my dad's friend who is an EE recommended I reconsider;
>college will be insane maths
>specializing is a bigger thing in EE
>mechs have more fun on the job- wide range of responsibilities+designing physical stuff is fun
I'm stuck.
I want to get into computers and software, which EE can allow for quite well, unlike ME.
>IT is never not important
Although my love of engines and making stuff makes ME seem more fulfilling.
I'd appreciate your views on this. Thanks.

Decide where you want to live.
Search job market in that location.
Ask yourself if you will be able to apply for any of these job with the education you are going to do.
Pick the thing which offers most jobs/ highest pay or you would just like it.
But as far as i see it, it is all STEM degrees and engineers will aways have a job no matter what. Good luck!
Both EE and ME have courses that are exclusive to them that have very difficult math courses but they aren't the hardest
EE's end up doing basic mechanical stuff and ME's end up doing basic electrical stuff all the time
Thanks dudes. Ill remember the advice.
