Anyone got any tips for a sprain ankle?

Rice is no longer used but I still follow it for when I wind up spraining my ankles.. Rest the ankle. Apply ice to reduce swelling every 30 to 40 mins. use compression like a ace bandage making sure its not to tight it is cutting off the blood flow, they sell ankle braces that fit way better and are easier to put on and off and e elevate the ankle for 48 hours making sure you keep as much weigh off of it as you can.. Again the medical industry has changed this but I still use it to this day.. also stay away from drinking during this time you think it helps numb the pain but it only screws up the healing process...

Don't try to run and jump. Just relax it then if you can walk. Put some ice on it for twenty minutes or so, and elevator it. Take it easy.

If you can't put weight on it, then you have a serious problem.

Wrap it hard, bandages if you got them but you can use anything (like a sock) to do it. Next time you do this as soon as it happens. The hot/cold thing just numbs the pain. Try to walk moderately and gently. Ibuprophen if you got em (ask your girlfriend).
