I just moved back into my house in Houston, TX that has been vacant for about two years and there are dozens/hundreds of bees flying back and forth from a hole in an exterior wall. The hole backs up to a floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace and they would have access to the attic from the hole. There's usually a handful of dead bees on the floor inside the house by the closest window and often a bee tapping itself into the window trying to get out. What do? How fucked am I? Will they leave for the winter? Can I eat the delicious bee vomit or is it going to taste like my nasty house? I don't hate bees or anything but I'm probably too broke to hire someone to come take them away and they have to go before they fuck with my cats/my cats fuck with them
Call a local bee keeper and see if they'll take the bees for free or for a low price. They'll do it for cheaper than an exterminator and they will make good use of the beez.
