Medfag here. There are dozens of causes of hiccups. Your diaphragm may be irritated, you could be in a low-oxygen environment, have eaten too much, air trapped in the stomach, or stress. Go outside, put on a meditation tape, and do some deep breathing. If it persists for more than 24 hours go to the emergency room.
