As an 18 year old who's been living with depression (Anhedonia, or a lack of pleasure to be specific) for 6 years, or about a third of my whole life, what should I do to try and help with it?
I've been seeing a counselor once a month and taking medication for about 8 months now, and I still don't feel much different.
Has anyone here experienced this or know someone who has? Clearly i'm desperate for help if I'm on /adv/.

Your almost done puberty
Can't you masturbate?
I have the same problem. Started when I was in late high school, so probably around the same age. It comes and goes in waves. I used to drink a lot or smoke a lot of weed to mitigate it. Don't do that, if you can. It makes things feel worse. Meditate. Look up zazen. Don't just do things because they feel good. Everyone has a "hedonic treadmill" that keeps them motivated. Yours is broken. So you can't rely on it as a carrot on a stick. Basically when I turned like 23, it hit me. "I can't use warm fuzzies as guide for what I should be doing with my life"....uh.....it's rough man. I mean, it's different for each person, but I'm 30 now, and I feel "blank" all the time. DON'T DRINK. To quote Louis ck: "it's a perfect solution to all of your problems right now". You should be old enough to understand why that's dangerous. What do you want to do with your life? Do you have philosophical convictions? This is the best advice I can give you with such little info
