you should first give some info about why you want to be a better person, but a general way is to

1) Work hard
2) Sleep early to work hard
3) Healthy lifestyle
4) Be friendly
5) Take care of your family
6) Be unselfish
7) Complete all your tasks in the right time

By work hard I mean if you're a student get good grades, if you're an employee work harder.

And don't take anything too serious, just be chill with a cool personality, if you stress about everything you'll be one of those zombies that walk the streets going back and forth to their work for money, boring life

Thanks anon, those are all great points. I'm generally a hard worker, and get up early most day. The points which I fail miserably at are:

4) Be friendly - I can fake being friendly, but I don't really have warm feelings for the vast majority of people - I just want them to like me which I understand is self-centered.
6) Be unselfish - Hard for me, I only think about myself. You'd be hard pressed to find a more self pitying, self centered person than me. I just think about myself. Probably from being isolated most of my life, didn't have friends and so I was the center of the universe.

I'm trying to smile more, so that the psychical act can bring about some sort of inner change. I'm also "faking it till I make it" which is trying as much as possible to pretend to be interested in other people. The results are so so.

27, dropped out, working on a business which I hope will succeed but it's disappointing right now.

Definitely an introvert, trying to open up now - managed to get a few friends but I'm terrified they'll find out I'm a fraud or that they'll think I'm too weird.

There is no need to open up to all people, just to the ones you only feel comfortable with and are shit-tested to some extend. For your general interaction with others just try to be kind and make witty remarks in a jokingly manner in order to provoke laugh i.e. pleasant emotions to others = won't regard you as a weirdo/loser whatever, but again, no need to do this in every social encounter, I only do this to people who I see regular (can't describe it better tbqh).

You can't contribute to conversations with people whom you can't relate with. I used to feel like this and then realised that these topics where completely retarded most of the time.

Not gonna post pic, and it's hard to describe myself. Maybe it's all in my head, but it's difficult to shake the feeling.

What were you studying in college? I am not saying that it is necessary to have some form of higher education to be accomplished in life, but it means that you can actually commit to something and go through with your decision. Maybe that's something you should work on.

Please do try, I think you're average-above average like me, and you think you look like a fucking wild animal or something instead of a average human being.
