I'm 23, graduated with my BA in psych in June, surprised to find I'm burning out in my work. I work as a behavioral therapist for autistic kids (and kids with other mental disorders). I've been working in this field since I was 20; I love working with the kids, I love the hours, I love the field. I got a big raise ($17/hr to $22/hr) just with the BA and I also get to work with home-cases.
But I'm burning out. It's as if after I got my degree, I just lost my desire to work. I feel empty. For the first time in my life (I've been working since I was 15) I go to work and then home and then I have nothing to do.
Should I go back to school, get my masters?
Should I get a hobby?

Get a hobby or join the fucking Marines and stop bitching.

You have to set yourself a new goal. Also how long and expensive was schooling? Thinking about getting in the same field.

No, I like working with kids.

School only took four years, no debt because I was working full-time and always took summer courses.
What do I do after a Masters degree though? That's two years, max, and my work would pay me to go so it wouldn't be money out of my pocket.

If you like working with kids maybe you could go back and get your B.Ed, or whatever your equivalent might be. Some people say that they have immense satisfaction from teaching, but i couldn't vouch since i have no experience in the field.
