I'm majoring in mathematics, tell me what this experience will be like, what potential careers are for this major, and other majors which could be good alternatives or double major

I don't really have a clue what I'm doing, I chose math because i'm alright at it and the idea of doing research in mathematics (which specific field I can't tell, topology or number theory would be a start) seems like a good way to find a purpose that is fulfilling

The concentration that you choose will ultimately decide what field of mathematics you work in. For example one can major in mathematics but concentrate on actuary related subject, same goes for statistics and computer science. As for some career opportunities with a math degree you can become an actuary, an analyst, a statistical analyst,data scientist,scientific computing. All very lucrative fields, I have read.
