My finger nails are in terrible shape. I've been biting them since I was in elementary school and every single day I can't fucking stop. I bite them down to the quick and they're always sensitive and look ugly as shit.

I've tried to stop but I just can't. I was thinking about putting fake nails on. My idea is to cover my real nails so I physically can't chew on them while they heal, and I do this until they start returning to normal. Is this a good idea or a stupid idea?

Long term it might be better to just see a psychologist these kinds of things can be fixed
