Being a teenager is not actually as ideal as you might think. A teenager's job is to learn how to be a person. They're establishing who they are, they're establishing where they stand on the social hierarchy, they're establishing where everyone else stands on the social hierarchy, they're establishing their independence.
Early twenties is where people start looking beyond their tiny social group. They might be more motivated now to start finding love, or moving towards a family, or having sex. They've started to figure out who they are, what they care about, and how to not be awful little shits who make fun of other people.

They are adults now. You are also an adult now. Both you and they have improved their social skills. You've matured emotionally, socially, and physically. You're likely a more appealing mate now than before. They are not awful fucking teenagers anymore.

Also, the people in highschool knew you since you were a child. They are shaped by the expectations of where you sat on the social hierarchy. You probably weren't actually ugly. But because calling you ugly was the thing that people did, people continued to do it. The adults you meet now do not know you as "the kid that everyone calls ugly." If they do, they likely have grown up and realized that that was fucking stupid and mean.

Also thinness doesn't necessarily mean more appealing. And you are in absolutely no way old.

Very true, but it's a lot less socially acceptable for an independent adult to be acting that way than a child. If people are going to grow out of their bullying nature, they're probably going to do it around their 20's or 30's. I'd imagine that it's more rare for people to grow into a bullying nature.

I was thin, but absolutely gorgeous as a teen. I was picked on, turned down by boys I liked, hated on by other girls.

Now I am older and fatter and all the boys come to the yard.

I wonder if teenage boys lacked confidence just as us girls did. Even then, when I was a teen, it seemed liked girls less pretty than me got laid faster than I did, however they were much more outgoing than I was. Boys made me nervous. Maybe my nervousness made them more nervous.

It also could be that your face is cuter because of the body mass. Many thin people have not round enough faces, depends on the person and how thin you really were and how you are now..

Many guys are into specific type of faces, and too thin girls tend to not have that kind of nice face people just tend to like, of course being too fat is also not good.

That could be the explanation, but it's probably just a random occurence or them being desperate. Don't let it get into your head and think that there was something wrong with you back then or something.
