I've just turned 18, next year I plan on going to university
I plan on studying physics, the required papers are physics 1 and 2, and mathematics 1 and 2.
Since first year reccomends 7 papers, 3 first semester and 4 second semester, I will probably take cell biology first semester, animal biology and marine science second semester
The amount of hours in total per week I'll be doing at university is:
Semester 1:
Each week:
4 x 1 hour physics 1 lectures
1 hour physics 1 tutorial
3 hour physics 1 practical
5 x 1 hour mathematics 1 lectures
4 x 1 hour cell biology lectures
3 hour cell biology practical
Total: 20 hours per week
Semester 2:
Each week:
4 x 1 hour physics 2 lectures
1 hour physics 2 tutorial
3 hour physics 2 practical
5 x 1 hour mathematics 2 lectures
4 x 1 hour animal biology lectures
3 hour animal biology practical
4 x 1 marine science lectures
4 hour marine science practical
Total: 28 hours per week
How much study time will I have to do in my spare time?
Remember I have to eat and sleep, etc
You'll be fine. Just don't join a frat or get drunk every night.
You should be treating university like a full time job i.e. 40 hours a week. Assuming that you sleep 8 hours a night, you'll have 72 hours a week to do everything that isn't uni or sleep.
