Not OP, but if you lack social skills 1. is incredibly important. People can't ignore you if you have an important skill/trade.

3. is something that some social retards will have a hard time coming to grips with, in the sense that you CAN'T do it for money and attention, otherwise it's obvious. You have to do it cos you enjoy it. (Sometimes you get suspicious and wonder why anyone is interested in your crap.)

What? Yes they can. You can be the guy that gets the crappy office and buttloads of work because you never learned to say "no" around the office. Sure, you are good at your job, but they pay you for that with money, not respect.

You'd be the one they'd use as scapegoat if shit went wrong.
You'd be the one that get tasked to do wetwork and will be discarded at moment notice.
If someone new who could do your share of work come and hes's more approachable/has better social skill, they'd replace you with him even if his skill is below yours

I know a guy, not really social, does something in IT networking, earns about £70-80K, they just about tolerate him at his workplace and he seems fine.
