Yes, I am going to call my counselor, but the school is closed for another 2 days so I won't have a chance until then.
Im enrolling in community college after enlisting into the Army Reserves (US).
Under my general education requiresments, under the "Fine Arts and Humanities" section, it reads (9 units required, select three classes, with at least one under Fine Arts and one from Humanities"
Im taking Japanese 1, which is a humanity, worth 5 credits.
Now I have 2 questions:
1. Can I take Japanese, and then take a 4 or 5 credit Fine arts class and be fine? Does the amount of classes matter or is it based on units?
2. If I DO need to take three classes, (and most classes are worth three units) lets say i take 2 more classes under fine arts worth 3 units each, that puts me at 11 units out of the 9 required. Where do these extra 2 units go?
I already have my elective credits from Military experience, so I dont think they will go there. I know you need around 60 units to transfer to a university, but im wondering if these extra units will just be wasted.
And I'm a Cyber Security major, the other humanity classes didnt interest me.

It's number 2 - you have to take three separate classes adding up to at least 9 units. If you wind up with more than 9, the extra just count toward your units-needed-for-the-degree total.
