Not at all. I like to think i'm stable in every other field. I grew up in a high crime rate neighborhood so I always had to focus on my peripheral vision but now it's taken a toll on me mentally.

You fix that by practicing not doing it. Easier said than done, i know. A cognitive behavioural therapist can help.

A general practitioner can refer you to one. Its a field full of actual doctors and hacks and fakes. So id recommend a referral.

It makes it hard to listen to someone. I would just blank out, block their words and focus on my peripheral vision.

Yep it would. If youve ever witnessed something extra bad or had your personal safety threatened, could be some ptsd too.

Definitely need cbt if thats the case. Although youre removed from danger im assuming. Your brain may learn itself everythings coo with time

Well, no. I still live in the same neighborhood and I constantly see crime happening. I did have bad stuff happen to me but nothing that was out of reach of my eye.

There's a difference between having anxiety and being anxious so i'm confused as to which one of these applies to me.

Not a huge difference, really.

Everyone gets anxious, anxiety is when it comes up at times when its innappropriate to be anxious, and frequently enough to be notably reducing your quality of life.


Some personal advice though. Doctor wont do shit for you if you still live in those conditions without tranquilizer drugs.

Do whatever it takes to move somewhere safer. Wait 6 months, and theres a good chance itll go away on its own.

I see. I'll have to see how long full recovery via therapy can take because i'm currently enlisted in the USMC. I'll be shipping off for boot camp in a few months. No idea if i'll feel safer in a base.
