Hey, /adv/. As the title says, I'm interesting in learning some form of self defense but I'm not really sure where to start. There's a lot out there and most of them seem geared toward the would-be MMA fighter fan.
Was hoping for some guidance/direction. Thanks
Learn how to box.
If you can box you're already 98% more adept at defending yourself than most cunts out there.

BJJ
Wrestling
Or any combination.

if you are scared of some band of niggers you should get a gun or something, even if trained you will get rekt if outnumbered
if you are from a civil country and not american, anything mentioned by the anons above is fine
mma mixes all so probably more balanced, but always look out for a decent instructor

I do live in St Louis. While I've never had anything happen to me, I'd like to be prepared.
I'll likely begin working as an EMT in the coming months. I've heard some crazy stories of EMTs and paramedics being attacked, shot at, harassed, etc.
I know some self defense isn't going to help in a gunfight, but I'd at least like to have somewhat of a chance if things become physical. And I obviously can't carry a gun on me while working as an EMT.
