There are some people in my life that are miserable because they are bored or can't engage in the hobbies they used to do for fun at the moment. They have no self confidence in learning things. It is to the point that it has come to annoy me that they can not entertain or help themselves meanwhile there are so many things to do with an open mind. They say they are too old or too stupid to learn how to use their smartphone, find a better job or learn how to play a game. I am very tired of listening to them complaining without doing anything to solve their problems. How can I help these people believe that they can learn new things?

You are not responsible for their happiness. If they come to you, saying they are miserable, the best piece of advice you can give them is: "You can't keep doing the same things every day and expect things to change."
