>be really awkward + borderline hypochondriac
>start dancing because a physical activity “will only do you good!”
>actually get worse at dancing, and get even more awkward and shy because of how bad you feel when seeing how much of a disgustingly terrible dancer you are
>quit dancing
>join volleyball
>feel worthless and despaired every time you practice because of how badly you play
>feel like everyone on the team hates you
>get even more awkward and apologize to everyone at every possible interaction
>at least you’re not that hypochondriac anymore :^)

Wrestling or martial arts. Channel your social frustration into physical strength. And you rely only on yourself, which means that you don't have to worry about a group of people hating you.
>>
What do you hope to get out of sports? Physical fitness? Socialization? Sense of belonging?

I like running and biking. You can do it when ever the fuck you want. Alone or with others. Push yourself as hard as you want. Go as slow as you want. Go for as long or as short as you want.

Running sucks a lot at first. It sucks a little less every time you do it but you gotta do it consistently.

I love biking. When I'm on my bike I feel free.

I also enjoy hiking but that kinda depends on where you live.

Swimming because its calming and youre underwater. When you sweat it just goes inside the water.

Swimming. You're literally swimming in chlorinated water, and you aren't expected to interact with anyone while swimming.

This. This is exactly what I did and it helped a lot. Before boxing I hated sports because to me, the team dynamic seemed to be more harmful than helpful. Everyone was thinking they were better than other people and really good teams are rare as fuck.

>Oh the team lost because the other players were shit and I'm better and smarter than them. Why don't they all act like me and win?
Or
>oh you don't know the rules already or don't have the basics already taught to you? Yeah fuck you you're a lost cause and will never get it.
Hated people like this. So when I got my first KO in boxing because I've been drilling for hours how to do a good liver punch. ALL of the satisfaction was mine. If I lost, it was all me.

Try the shotput and discus team on track.

Probably the most laid back group of people. Mostly because unless your olympic, no one really cares about how well you throw

This. Jumpers are also pretty chill in my experience.

Track and field is all around good though, it's an individualized sport so if you suck, no one really cares.

Your problem is not the sports, your problem is that you feel bad for yourself.

You need to be more proud of yourself and begin to realize everyone was bad at some point and that some learn faster than others.

For example, I've practice tennis for about 15 years now, competed and now playing casually. There's a guy with who we train that is fucking bad (and I really mean it) and has played for a long time now. That doesn't stop him from quitting the sport because he likes it and knows he'll get better.

My advice is to start a sport either you like, or do the bravest one which is to return to dancing or volleyball. Now again, your problem is how you look at yourself, not the sport which you want to play. And also, I would watch more motivational speeches, you need to have more self esteem.

Drone racing

Orienteering. It's a very solitary sport, but you still have good opportunities to socialise before and after your run.
>>
Join some rec leagues or pick up games in your local neighborhood. I never played hockey until I was 26 and that winter i got out there and sucked it up amongst some experienced players, and also some newcomers. And it was still a blast.

Track and field is great because there's a ton of different activities you can do, if you suck at love jump, do Sprint, if you suck at Sprint do discus, etc. And in track and field it's not super competitive, everyone is supportive of each other, and people are pretty tightly knit. You compete against other people but nobody's trying to do anything but their own personal best.

Sports become a lot more comfy after half a year or so when you see notable improvements. I guess you never took training that far. Everyone is awkward as fuck at first, noone really knows what they do for the first 3 years, but you have to push through it. With time you'll find your pace, find stuff in it you like and that you're good at and stuff that you see you want to improve. You'll start at the gym with lifting the bar while some guy besides you deadlifts close to 400 lbs and his gf squats 200lbs. You'll start kickboxing awkward as fuck, not knowing how to kick or punch, having no balance and feeling absolutely owerwhelmed in sparring because there's someone slightly fighting back and you know they are just being nice to you and you don't know how to move.

>was about 135kg when I started boxing
>got down to about 118 in a month
Boxing is pretty fun
