The fall semester is starting on August 28th and I can't find housing that I can afford. I'm limited to ~$650 for rent which I'm finding rooms on craigslist that meet that, but every single one is already taken by the time I get a response. Renting my own apartment isn't feasible because they're $1100 for a 1/1 and I need to make 3 times that a month to be accepted, which I can't do while in school full time. The campus is 3 hours away from my current home so I can't really commute daily.
What kind of options do I have for temporary housing if I can't manage to find one before the 28th? It's in Orlando near the metrowest area.

Live in a motel/Air BNB until you can find a place.
Should've gone to an easily commutable school.
I was in the same situation as you a year ago. I slept in my corolla in a Walmart parking lot and bathed at the university gym. Crashed on a friend's couch for the rest of the school year after a month or so.
Get an illegal sublease, they're cheap and you're not liable. Usually posted on CL by Chinese kids who need to go back to China after their visas are up, assuming you're at a decent school that attracts Chinese for exchange.
