A bar and a dating app are things, places, where people don't hide that they are looking to get laid. They make their intentions clear.

And if you want to get laid, you'll have to learn to make ypur intentions clear without feeling dirty yourself.

Personally, I don't think they'd work for me. I'm not good at texting/chatting. I also think you have to be realistic with your expectations when using one AND that you have to prepare yourself for rejection (just by sheer volume or messages).

But at least you know people on apps are looking to get laid, so that's a step up.

I still think you should deal with the feelings of shame, too.

I used to think online dating is a resigning from the world of meeting women in IRL but I really can't meet women in my current lifestyle.

Be careful with them. There are a lot of socially awkward and vulnerable people that choose dating apps, because they can't handle going out and meeting people. Therefore there are a lot of predators that see them as easy meat.

Its not required or reccomended to go out and stay out all night and get wasted. You can go out have a beer or two, watch a game and be in at a decent hour. Don't make it a dragon that needs to be slain. Just be social. The more social you are the more attractive of a mate you are.

As in a watering hole predators pick out the sick, weak, and antisocial and alone.

Let me tell you why.

I'm a sysadmin for a big international company. My salary is 115K a year but guess what. I'm required to be working remotely or in the office because the nature of our business, there has to be at least one network admin monitoring logs.

So my hours range from 8AM to 10PM, give or take, I don't work full hours and its very easy, but I have to be on-call during these hours.

I do go out on Sundays, usually with friends in the morning. I just can't do my old ways of bar hopping.

My brother is investing my money for me. And the leftovers after mortgage and utils I spend on tech and hobby things.

I'm tech and I have this problem, I've been in a long term relationship with a woman who is army med. we never see each other. Even I'm constantly traveling for contracting and I envy the day we can both settle down.

You have to be honest with yourself. If you don't have time to spend looking for a girl. Will you have time for one if you find her? It sounds to me like you may be better off going the escort route.
