What can you give someone in thanks for taking care of you when your are injured healing and can't do anything around the house?
My wife has been taking care of me after I had a fall and broke both feet. She asked me this evening what she would get in return, I was a tad taken aback because of the whole "in sickness and in health" thing and I had no immediate answer (I want to take her on a trip after but I was waiting for what the doctor says about my physical therapy). This really pissed her off and I'm pissed off too because she appearently wants some kind of reward for this.
But in general, what are gifts of gratitude, I never get anyone anything, I just use words and say thanks and try let it be known I'm there for them.
Generally speaking, it depends on the person but something like a movie voucher or restaurant gift card are good options. But I agree, your wife shouldn't expect a reward for doing what she did. It'd be nice for you to do something for her or take her somewhere, but there shouldn't be the expectation

Thanks. I am Pretty steamed and confused about the whole thing. I would love to go somewhere with her but when I told her I wanted to wait and see what the doctor was going to say she just said I'm lying and never even thought about anything to reward her.

Not gonna lie, that's pretty fucked up of her.
I wouldn't give her shit until we had a serious talk about that.

I am not. She admitted it was shallow of her before continuing to yell at me. It's not like she's had to wipe my ass or anything she just has to do all of my chores now, maybe bring me food that I can't put in pockets. It's fucked up. I thought me getting back to normal life was gift enough and I'm shocked she was expecting a "carrot" of sorts.
