Lurker here.
I'm entering my last year of high school, and have absolutely no idea what to do once I graduate. My grades are average and I'm not a complete brainlet. I am completely capable of getting accepted and attending a decent four year public university near me. My father owns a small construction company that has been mildly successful over the years. I have worked for him during breaks for school and enjoy the work but I don't want to do it for the rest of my life. Recently I have considered joining the Navy and there is a reputable Senior military college in my state that I could attend and go in the Navy as an officer. Should I just go to a typical engineering college and get ass raped by student loans? Or stay in my area and work a blue collar job until my dad retires and take his place? Or go into the Navy as enlisted, or attend an academy and go in as an officer?
tl;dr: Should I go into the military, college, or workforce?
military, if not - workforce, last place - college. If you have no dreams or no drive for particular things, college will be place where you will turn suicidal or at least depressed + sudent loans...
