I am a web developer, and till now i always had clients that payed. But now it happened. One of my clients does not want to pay for his site. Not returning or answerning phone calls, nothing. but i still have all the passwords, FTP accounts, everithing. What is your idea on what to do?
>>
put a lien on his house. sue him in small claims court. i dont know
>>
Just fuck up his site if you've access to db and shit.
>>
Change the passwords and put up a "Site is undergoing maintenance" page one every location until the client calls you and sorts everything out. You don't want to sperg out and wreck the site like a kid, but this should be subtle enough that the site users in the meantime don't disassociate with your client.
>>
>>18589931
remove the work you made and expect to be sued. if the client sues you you can argue that he didnt pay and you took back the service you renderd.
>>
I doubt he will pay, he will probably just threaten me... That is why i have to make it look as if thishas nothing to do with me... I was first thinking of just removing some of the css files for starters
>>
>>18589931
Make a backup, then delete everything and put up a "site pending payment" text.
>>
>what is a contract
>>
a contract is something i do not have :D
>>
>>18589936
If he gets paranoid that hackers got into it, he'll immediately change the passwords of everything, you dumb fuck.
>>
That's why you shouldn't work directly on the site
>>
>>18589938
>>what is a contract
This
>>
yeah, something lli that... he has some good servers, with a few more domains left... i was thinking of using them/selling them...
>>
what about using their servers for processing usage? is there any place where i could offer "hacked" servers for usage?
>>
>>18589939
Good job, legally you can do nothing.

I was going to give some advice about getting a lawyer and suing, while probably doing >>18589934 in the meantime, but if you don't have a contract well fucking done, you're fucked.

Use standard opsec (TOR, burner phone, random internet cafes that aren't too close to where you live, etc., etc.) to do some shit. Selling stuff is difficult because you'll need the money to be untraceable, so you'll probably have to find some buyers for bitcoins and then tumble them (or use cash, which is likely even harder since you'll need to meet in person without compromising your idenitity). At least you should be able to just fuck his shit up. Maybe brick some things if you can find a way.
Keep in mind that all of that is illegal and if you get caught you could be arrested and possibly jailed. If you don't want to risk that there's literally nothing you can do.

Next time make sure you get a fucking contract you mongoloid.
>>
if there's no contract, there might as well be no work. so just remove the site
>>
>>18589944
If you have to ask this, you'll fuck up and get caught if you try

Unless the client is an idiot and won't ever sue

don't do retarded stuff, get lawyer and follow his advice
he might fuck you in fees but you'll get your money back in the end as long as client actually has money and isn't a chinese company
next time define penalties for payment delays in your contracts

>:D

>:D
>:D

You have to go back
>>
i am not worried about legality, thats why im looking for ideas ;)
>>
Just to clarify: the client has money and is stupit as fuck
>>
>>18589949
be nice to op he has to take deep breaths else his brain does not get properly oxygenated and he ends up making dumb decisions like not having contracts while making freelance work
>>

>>18589934
This. You built it and did not not get paid, he has no right to use it. Sucks 4 him. Don't sperg out because you want to be taken seriously. If u do retarded shit then take it to /b/
>>
>>18589934
Just do this you 13 year old shit brain
>>
>>18589949
Seriously though this is clearly a summer fag larp
>>
Backup that, and install a porn site on the domain
>>
>>18589936
add a section where you sell and rate used buttplugs.

> it takes over the site and becomes more profitable than the original purpose
>>
In the U.S. even if you don't have a formal signed contract, two parties agreeing to something forms a contract. If you have records of them agreeing to pay you for the website you can still take them to court.

>>18589945
Don't do this illegal shit, you should still talk to a lawyer, it shouldn't be too hard to get your money if you have records of them agreeing to pay you for your work.
>>
>>18589931
>>18589939
>he didn't establish a legally-binding contract

You dun goofed. Contracts exist for this very reason.
>>
Take down all the stuff you made, end of story.
>>
>>18589939
Did he verbally agree to pay you around witnesses? Because that can constitute a verbal contract in court.
>>
>>18589961

Actually since there's no established contract surely he retain the rights to his work and as such can demand its removal.

He's an idiot for not getting a contract though.

And for being a web dev
>>
>>18589931
Just take down everything.

If he tries rehosting it somewhere send a DMCA to his host. He hasn't payed for it so it's not his. If he's as cheap with his hosting as he is with you the hosts are just going to kick him off if you send enough DMCA requests.
>>
learn from this lesson young pajeet and always make every client sign a contract with poo
>>
>>18589931
Why should he pay?
>>
>>18589936
Just backup all his client db + webpage.
Meanwhile Change all his pages for one "Web Page manteinance error".
Delete everything but the home page.
Delete client db.

When he contacts you dont answer for 1 Day. Tell him the webpage was not properly configured.
Tell him to pay you everything.
If he refuses tell him that the webpage in that state can be easily hackeable and that the hacker known as 4chan can get the client DB.

And dont forget to do everything in incognito tab.

If he still refuses sell the db for memecoin.
