>have to find housing for the coming academic year. 22/M/good credit/make $800-900 per mo.
>can't do dorms due to financial shenanigans
>currently renting a house nearby, however it's a shithole and I cancelled my lease (have 1 month to pack)
>found some single apartments nearby, ~$500 a month excluding utilities, nice locations)
>would likely live paycheck-to-paycheck which I hate, but I need to stay somewhere
>basic spending would go: rent + utils + car insurance ($120) + food($40-60/wk). rest would be saved/luxury costs. need solid Internet for class as well, but no TV or anything
>no idea how to go about it, either live cheap or acquire a means to gain ~$200+ a month
Any apartment anons, what are your average utility bills? Any pro tips for reducing apartment costs, or things to look for when browsing?
Bump. Any apartment-searching advice is welcomed.

have you checked craigslist in the map view for any apartments near the college? I was a bit slow so it was snatched up but there was a really good one near mine in orlando. $600 per month for a private bed/bath in a 2/2 with utilities included. You can also go to your college campus and see at the answer/information center if they have a board for roommate searching.

I'm real leery about Craigslist considering my college is basically in a ghetto part of town. I'll give a go though just to see.
I've seen some roommate searching, none lately but I'll keep an eye out. There's some "students searching for students" resources online through the college but nobody uses them, maybe the office will know.
