So I'm trying to transfer it to another McDonalds they're both different franchises but my manager said that I need to first wait six months and got a release from them, I was wondering of that's true?

I'm sure that's one way. Another way is to just go and apply to that other restaurant, and, if hired, quit your old job.

Call the corporate office and notify HR of the situation. It sounds like your manager is trying to force you to quit instead of making more work for themselves

Just go ahead and call his bluff. Seriously, even if this was real, you think it's worth them spending the money on a lawyer to keep a fry cook from working at a different McDonalds?
Yea if you quit at McD's you have to wait 6 months before you can reapplie at a McDonalds. Technically you are quiting the franchise you are working now, hence the 6 month wait period.

it's mcdonalds, worst case scenario is you work at wendy's now. You should be more concerned about getting an education and graduating from a wage-slave.
