How do I explain why I'm leaving my current job for something similar without seeming incompetent? I have an interview with Chipotle tomorrow, and I'm trying to leave my manager position at McDonald's and regain a management position quickly there.
My current job has unreasonable expectations, careless upper-management, and caused me immense stress, but I'm afraid this will make me look unqualified or incapable. How can I say that I can use my skills and experience without making it look like I bailed from my current job because I couldn't handle it, which is partially true.

You don't mention ANY of the problems you had with management/etc.
You say "I quit because I felt I outgrew my position there and that I'd have better upward mobility here [at chipotle]" and then you turn it around on them and ask: "I WOULD have better upward mobility here, wouldn't I?" to plant the seed that you expect promotions for your hard work.

>There are not any growth opportunities for me at my current job. I'm seeking something that will challenge me and allow me to build skills.

Also, to add: never EVER trash talk or talk about your prior work history as a negative experience. Always say good things like "I really enjoyed my role as manager at McDonalds... it was challenging but I learned a lot there and it was a good experience."
Interviewer: "So why do you want to leave McDonalds OP?"
OP: "I enjoy and appreciate my current job, but I feel what Chipotle does suits me more. I appreciate the emphasis on natural ingredients, I think the food is much better value and quality here...etc"
Just show up, speak with the manager, give him a firm handshake, and tell him you wanna work there. He'll understand right away, Champ.
