I don't want to restrict myself this much

I live in a little city and i have I have trouble meeting new people in general, (i am an avarage guy, 21 normal appearance) expecially new girls, cuz here we know each other, we know almost half city and I'm too insecure to go to a girl and tell her random stuff to know her cuz i feel like if i fail or i make a bad impression everyone will know and i will feel so bad.
I also have a lot of friend, but i regulary see only 3 of them cuz they are the best friend i have but they alredy have a girl and they make out with them most of the time.

What can i do to limit myself less?
