As a man just beginning university in autumn, when would the best time to start a family be? I would obviously need a career by then (a lucrative one at that), so that would amount to 22 years of age for me, but what would the right mate look like? Could she be my age and start having children a bit later with the risk of birth problems in her thirties, or should I choose someone around 20?

Secondly, what sort of career should she have? Housewives aren't common in this age, so I am to choose one with a lighter career such as a nurse, or a more demanding occupation such as a doctor with a higher pay, but less disposed towards homemaking. I plan on going into the field of law, which along with my future SO's career, may not be enough to sustain a large household and even larger home. Thoughts?
