How much swelling and redness is normal after stitches are removed?

Take a sniff. If it doesnt smell like rotten / infection you are probably ok. And of course you should follow your doctor instructions.

Your finger looks good. It isnt even purple. And i presume the orange/brown is the rest of dezinfection like betadine.

Does it even hurt? Just watch for rash and the smell. The infection can happen and nobody wants their finger to rot off. Black and other funny colors are dangerous.

Taking stiches off is no big deal. You just pull on them a bit and cut them open by something sharp enough like pedicure clippers. The whole point is to not take them off too soon.

Nah the only stitch was at the base of the nail where you see the little dark spot and the tip of the finger to get the nail on. The brown/orange bits I would assume is pus/scabbing.
