So, I have a few good connections, and could either go in one of two ways:
>Make a steady income by making YouTube videos
>Take the plunge and try to become a musician (got decent connects to become moderately successful)
Both are pretty low-risk, high reward. Maybe I could do both, focusing more on one than the other?

this. the initial dive into becoming a musician might be too risky depending on how old you are and other circumstances, and YouTube revenue has been going into the shadow realm recently
bad idea, back up plans are trade schools and family connections into the utility businesses (mechanic, plumber, electrician)

Worst case scenario for either of them is that they're not as popular as I would hope, but I'm still doing things I enjoy.

This is Going all out vs Going all out, so you might as well pursue the full blown "going all out" of being a musician, but with an /actual/ backup plan that you're also working on (like a conventional job or school)
