I'm great at talking to people online and coming off as normal. The issue is how to go from nothing to normal in real life. It's not about learning social skills.

Instead of thinking of life as a line, think of life as a tree.

Those people invested their time in being social and learning how to deal with other people, almost certainly at the expense of having a fairly shitty idea of who they are themselves.
Everything in life is more of a trade off then a "do or die" situation. If you want to be social, go to an event that has to do with something you're interested in, and just talk to people about that thing.

Personally, I got into the rave/EDM scene, because it's full of weirdos like myself, and also a shit ton of drugs, which, I'm fairly predisposed towards doing

Also, look, this isn't easy to deal with, but 100% you're gonna get played.
Some guy you think is really attractive will fuck your heart up, but that's part of life girl.
No one makes it out alive anyway, just live a little.

It's not like you have any expectations except your own to deal with.

Ultimately, I found that realizing that giving a shit about life to such depth is what made me make decisions that I would later regret.

I promise, the best thing you'll ever do for yourself is get involved in a club or event or literally anything that interests you, and to not shut down people that come up to you to talk to you. You have the advantage of being female, which, means there's at least one person wherever you go that will want to talk to you, or at the VERY VERY least, not shut you down if you initiate.

Second, the more closed you are, the less interest people will show in you. That isn't a bad thing, it just isn't very good if you're trying to get better at socializing. Open yourself up! Relax and understand that if you've gone this long without friends or people, it's not like you're gonna die tomorrow if the first person you talk to thinks your weird. TONS of people think I'm weird as shit, and you know what, I fuckin' love it, cause that's how I fuckin' /am/.

Just go and do it, and stop thinking about it. Music is a great place to start.

Shit, yeah you're right. I just wish i'd gone through it younger. Since i haven't done anything i'm too sensitive and it'll destroy me.

I joined some martial arts clubs a few years ago but i was going through anxiety at the time, so it didn't really work out. I like the idea of joining a club...just not sure which one.
