So unless it's very poor phrasing, what's meant is that it gets worse and worse until about three days in, but after the third day (roughly), it starts getting better again.
TL;DR: if you're at day 3 and feeling horrible, you'll likely start feeling progressively better from tomorrow on.

The physical symptoms drop off in 3 days.
That is, after 72 hours, your body gets rid of all the nicotine, so the only thing that remains is the psychological addiction.
Generally, that will pass in time, after the first 2-3 weeks you're gonna find a noticable difference, as the cravings get shorter, less intense and sparser. That's generally the period after which it will stop being a big issue.
But rest assured, especially if you've smoked for long and had little rituals like coffee+cigarettes, those are gonna come back one in a while. But eventually, you'll be able to dismiss the craving so easily, you're gonna wonder why you've smoked at all.
Ultimately, it's just about getting through those 5-10min cravings. Divert your attention. Buy chewing gum... barrels of it... and just stuff your mouth with it.
