There's so much further you can go than this.
It works - but it's a limited map of a vast territory - and it's very very materialistic - and for many people it's a stop point on any spiritual path.

It's more interesting if we take it to /x/ territory, but the reasons it works aren't really that important, as long as you have faith and let go of desire. In 'The Secret' they focus a lot on visualization. I'd argue that language is more important.
