I started a new medication, it has a side effect of insomnia (it's a stimulant medication called Wellbutrin). I work nights 5p.m.-5a.m. at a restaurant. It's hard work scrubbing, washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, until sun comes up. I usually fall asleep at 7a.m. and wake up at 2p.m. to to some things before work.

Because of the new medication, I've not been able to fall asleep tonight and It's now 2p.m. and I haven't slept! There's no way I'll make it through a 12 hour shift of sweeping and dish scrubbing on no sleep. I have a shift in 3 hours and need to tell work I can't come in.

How should I do it? They will be very pissed. I need a really good reason. It's a very shitty job so they want a damn good reason and mine won't be good enough what should I tell them?
>>
that you started a new medication and insomnia is one of the side effects

show up to work, puke, then come home.
>>
>>18548566
Go to work pussy. I'm in the same position and I'm gonna work my shift at a grain mill
>>
>>18548860
Why does a grail mill run at 5 in the morning?
>>
>>18548880

thats prime graining hours. have you ever even been in a grain mill before?
>>

Wellbutrin isn't a stimulant, but it can be activating. Take it when you wake up for the day. Now tough through your shift.
>>
>>18548894
I mean, no, I guess I haven't.

>>18548899
It acts as a stimulant. Unlike other antidepressants it not only acts as an SSRI but also acts as a Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor which gives a stimulant-esque effect. It makes it hard to sleep I assure you.
>>
>>18548921
Its not a stimulant. Its not a stimulant-esque medication. Its not stimulant adjacent. You're not basically taking modafinil or something. Its activating. Yes, a short term side effect can be insomnia (although its rare), but that will pass. Suck it up and get through your day.

>i guess I haven't

then shut your fucking mouth about things you don't know, most grainerys operate 24/7 as there is no need not to (save for one day a month when things need to cool off and safety protocols need to be done).

they actually have twice as many people in the 2am - 8am shift as any other time because the temperature is cooler and you can have more people in the rooms wtih the machines without worrying about heat stroke.
>>
>>18548945
I was just asking a question, but ok. Atleast I learned something.
>>
>>18548951

im totally fucking with ya man, i know nothing of grainerys, im not even that original anon who brought it up.
>>
>>18548942
Stop trying so hard

Standford Med classifys it as "A type of antidepressant that also acts as a stimulant"

http://whatmeds.stanford.edu/medications/bupropion.html

The side effect of insomnia is not rare, it's a common side effect

https://www.drugs.com/sfx/bupropion-side-effects.html

you don't know shit, get out of here.

He's not retarded. He's just a 'retard-esque' poster.
>>
>>18548960
I know that a 2.9% increase over placebo of a symptom present in the underlying disorder that the medication is supposed to treat might as well be signal noise.
>>
I've been on Wellbutrin for almost 2 years and I never had problems sleeping on it, it stimulates the same receptors as nicotine so maybe it's not the medication try some over the counter sleep aids or ask your doctor for some or half a gravol should do the trick also
