I wasn't allowed to go see my friend at 4 pm today because "too much is happening outside". I'm 19 and live in Brooklyn. I told my mom how I felt about being kept inside by her all day while everyone else is having fun and blasting hip hop on the block, but she didn't seen to care and said feeling bored and bland in life is normal (more or less this is what she said ). I just want to gave as much fun and memories as possible so that as an adult I can feel happy by looking back on these moments. she is looking at life from a 42 year old woman's perspective, which is slower and not as exciting.

why must mothers be like this? why are they control freaks?
