Can I get tips for first date, how they work and advice

So here's rundown

>Be me
>Tinder
>Speak to nice girl like a few days ago, all convos have been very short low tier question and answer stuff
>Eventually add on snapchat
>Ask what she had tinder for, she said for relationships I speak further, I ask if she's had luck on the app
>Says there's a dude she may like, and he's gotten to know her and she's unsure (think she said that), but then also says in same sentence "You also seem very nice"
>Take as a que ask if she'd rather I get to know her over text or in person (she's 30 mins away)
>Have very low tier small talk that's literally "Do you like X/have you done X/
>Gives answers back, really low tier like questions
>Eventually tell her I think that it'd be easier for this shit if we went on an actual date
>Says yeah sure I guess or something along those lines
>Schedule date
>Dates next week
>Said great and haven't said anything else to her yet besides just scheduling

Did I do this right anon? Also since I've never been on a date before, how's this whole process work? What usually happens, what am I suppose to do?

Also do I bother contacting her until the date? Give me some /advice/ I'm not used to any of this, treat it as if you were explaining how dating and romance works to a retard
