After putting over £400 in my lessons and test, I've just failed it. I'm not sure if I want to do another test because of the amount of money it takes and because I don't actually have a use for a car right now, I was just trying to get my license because everyone else has one. Do you think it's worth trying again because I'm not sure.

Having car in some megacity with good public transport is a bit stupid. Until you plan to start family with kids and so on, you can easily live without one.
However once you want to pretend you are adult, make family (shopping for 5 people is HUGE) or you simply live out of nowhere (or in usa where everything is 5+ kms from you), you need means of transport.
So yeah, study more and make the test already. You do it only once per life. And as a boy, ability to drive car is "sexy".
Yeah I would recommend you pass your test, you'll find a lot of jobs will screen for driving licence and access to a vehicle if not specifically ask for one. It isn't fair but it's the state of the job market nowadays.

Of course it is.

Having a license is useful whether you want to buy a car or not.
There are more and more cars on the road every year which makes the test harder so do it sooner rather than later.
