It's cause you are really tense, there is likely an external factor keeping you on your toes so to speak, around bad people that keep you tense? I've been there, just try and relax and get comfortable.Try working out and trying the occasional, indica cannabis, you'll get familiar what it physically feels like to relax and notice all your tension.

As long as the number of exhales is roughly equal to the number of inhales, you're doing fine.
