Where do you promote your youtube videos? Did you have a large social media following beforehand? What is the basis of your content?

I'm starting a vlog channel with some other skits/reactions/commentaries etc. thrown in and since vlogs don't exactly go viral and attract people by their nature (people don't search "vlog" as often as they search "guy gets knocked out")

Just wondering if anyone has advice on where I should post these and what I can do to optimize traffic?
