It's incredible how many retards see a bunch of memes and take it for truth. It is true that java is not a great first language because you will get some habits that are very bad with other languages, but saying it's useless is beyond retarded.

OP, most if not all online courses are garbage. Learn from textbooks. Introduction to Programming Using Java by David Eck is a great book for complete beginners.

do you know other programming languages?

if so, just dive straight into one of those fancy IDEs with static analysis, which basically write code for you and you'll be good in no time.

make sure to read up on some theory, when there's something you don't quite get

Download IntelliJ IDE and watch some udemy course or something.
