Hi /adv/
So I just turned 26 years old. When I was a teenager, I dropped out of highschool and immediately got my GED. I spent the time from then til now traveling around the country working odd jobs and meeting new people. Now I'm well into Adulthood and starting to think more seriously about college. During my teens I fantasized about going to college for acting, but after scoring a few roles without any formal training, I don't know if it's worth it to spend several thousand dollars on the classes despite it being what I love and my talent at it. Essentially, I'm looking for a degree that will pay enough to support my artistic pursuits. I guess what I'm asking is...what should I study? Are associate degrees viable enough to make a decent wage or are bachelor's degrees necessary? Are there any hurdles of going to school past the typical age?
>tl;dr I'm 26 and seriously thinking about college. I love theatre but it's not financially viable so what should I study?
As someone who did the same thing, let me tell you to avoid the humanities. Major in engineering, math, accounting, engineering, or engineering.

Also: hurdles. As a slightly older student, you will be bombarded with pussy looking to escape the immature freaks that are male undergrads.

i guess this is a somewhat bitter pill as math was always my worst subject. but I guess there's no way to really get around The Big Math issue.
