I'm married.. and my wife had gotten debt without me in the picture.. we made the choice to file for bankruptcy and when it's all done in 5 years our debt will be done with and our credit will be good.

It's been hard.. I'm 33 with some college..

I'm sure that there are better options for you out there. Depending on the state you live in there are financial places that can help you through the process of family isn't an option.

It may sound strange but there are often times social workers who work at soup kitchens and other state run shelters who can help point you in the right direction or find a non profit group in your area.

I know how tough it can be but you still got a shot..

Some times in life we are stuck in a situation for so long that it feels like you won't ever be able to get out of it.. we had to go out of our comfort zone and ask for help.. we. It's came from middle class families and it was very hard to ask. But we decided to and are better for it.

I'm not saying this will help your situation but its relatable sadly these days.

What would that accomplish? If you don't change the things that got you in this situation, you could end up the same after making a new life for yourself.

Besides, if you have so much debt, they WILL get you eventually.

OP, you gotta understand... Depending on how much debt you're trying to escape from disappearing is going to mean you're a criminal and can never resurface without spending serious time in jail. This is like pulling the trigger with a gun to your head and never turning back... Anywho the wikihow has good information...

Make sure it's clear you disappeared voluntarily, save you the costs of a search party which you're gonna have to pay if you're ever caught and pain for anyone who might give a shit about you...

It's best to leave behind all evidence of your former identity and maybe even burn records like birth certificates, photos, cards, and ids... Delete internet profiles, etc... Less evidence to identify you from means less for law enforcement to use against you. You shouldn't take anything that can be tied to you specifically.

Use cash only unless you manage to create a legitimate new identity for yourself years in the future. Your escape is going to require you to have as much cash as you can possibly have... Tell people you're moving, but in reality just sell all your shit, max out your cards, take out a loan if possible, and skip the last two months of rent. Cash everything and run.

Take your car as far as possible in the first leg of your escape and then ditch it (preferably in a very remote location across a border where it won't be found for months, maybe even push it off a remote Cliffside) start biking or walking from there...

Find under the table work

I'd join a church group and make a back story about being a recovered drug addict or an illegal migrant and try to find work and housing that way...
