OP here, I completely agree with what you're saying it's just nearly all my social connections are through alcohol and it's just what I do, sadly can't do any other drugs due to UK and my job. I know gambling is fucking stupid it's just the easy way out if I by some miracle win big

alright but do you believe in math? you're just turning the financial odds against yourself, making good things less likely to happen. if you do win, you'll just trick the primitive parts of your brain into thinking that putting money in a blender is rewarding, then most likely blow the freed up portion of your winnings on more gambling.

OP here. Completely agree with most of what you've said, I have a few times walked away a few thousand up from the casino but it just ends up pissed up the wall on a 2 week bender. It'd depend what you classify as an alcoholic, probably about three times a week 4-5 of us are completely no recollection, black out stupid decisions pissed and it's just what we do.

Going shut in wouldn't really work as I live and work around the same people, and the only option is to either sit around watching tv and be mind numbingly boring, or go out with the boys. If I had the option I'd be thousands of miles away from this job travelling and loving life but the having 15K of debt is a massive show stopper on that front.

in our society money governs everything, so getting the professional life together usually comes before getting the personal life together

I don't think you're the only 24 year old person who isn't satisfied with life.

When I'm 24 I'll probably still be working a job for $15hr without much upwards mobility, whereas I could be a doctor by then if my parents didn't throw me out for no goddamned reason.

that doesn't mean that the years are being wasted though. my interest is in medicine, so the sort of dead end job I'm working is in medicine, and a lot of the curriculum crosses over into other careers.

maybe you can start doing something like that too, studying or practicing for what you really want to be.

Maybe you want to be a musician or a comedian or just fit. It never hurts to start training now.

That doesn't mean I can't still go to college for whatever I want at 24, when the fed recognizes me as worthy of my own college loan.

I'm not going to give up or anything like that. You shouldn't either.

My father was abusive, so my counselor at the time referred me to a youth services home full of these other car-stealing and/or footlocker working kiddos. The home was in the ghetto, though, so it was not positive and I left.

Eventually, I moved in with my grandparents, out of the youth services home, but they did resent me. So, they eventually picked fights with me and threw me out.

I was just trying to get my borderline psychosis under control, while I was waiting for EMT courses to start (because those courses were all I could afford). Obviously, EMT would be traumatizing to someone who was already talking to homies in their head, but whatever. I was also on this nocturnal routine, chasing this other borderline psychotic girl around and playing too much Left 4 Dead 2 for my grandparents' liking.

Eventually I smoked a cigarette in the bathtub (fucking psychotic lol), and that was the final straw for them.

The other blue collar white kids (men?) they knew (friends of friends) started doing dope and killing themselves, so they got all goddamned triggered and started hating me more. Eventually my grandfather started confronting me fully nude, telling me I was shit and all that.

When the nude confrontations made me too scared, I went to my fellow nutcase/bestie's for the weekend. While I was there, my grandparents called me on the phone saying I was not allowed to return.

My mom was with this drug addicted douchebag and *his* psychotic friend who was missing a fucking leg, basically throwing her money into the drain and maybe doing drugs, so she was of no help.

No, obviously they didn't. You've totally figured out how the world works. If mommy or daddy don't explain to a child what they should or shouldn't do, then that affects the kid for life.

For instance people who eat too much food, it's because their mommy and daddy told them to do so. If someone is a criminal, it's because mommy and daddy didn't tell them not to be a criminal.

Basically when you see someone wearing a ugly shirt and you feel like condescending them you can remember that it was their mommy and daddy that told them ugly shirts are preferable to fashionable ones. You can then point your finger and say, "Haha your mommy and daddy are not as good as my mommy and daddy." Then you can go home and kill yourself.

I get what you guys call "autism bucks," and I'm still trying to get the goddamned money for school.

I live in a very nice town in conditions that are better than most people in the world, so I am very grateful for that.

School is *hopefully* starting this fall or next spring. Once I am in a full time job and off the autism bucks, I'll have a chance at a normal life, in a region that I appreciate very much.

I hope that you stop gambling, drinking, and acquiring debt. I see lots of people in the city who are so close to being happy, successful people if they would just stop. Sometimes they have really amazing personalities, but it all gets used too feed an addiction instead of being used for growth.
