How do you get shy people to open up?
From an outside non shy perspective it seems like passive aggressive when they don't respond like normal people do. Obviously that's wrong, I just don't know what you're supposed to do.
time
Keep initiating convos with them until they open up. Talk about topics that interest them.

This. Some people, like autists, aren't confident in their ability to tailor their behavior or "read the room" and just won't open up if they don't think they can carry on the conversation due to lack of interest.

Stab them, they will be too shy to call the police. Patch them up and now you are bros.

Now you're talking sense Anon.
Devilish.
>>18503527
Do you at least try to talk to them about your own interests? Do you have any?
>>18503569
Duh. That's why I'm talking to them in the first place.
Got faced with that problem recently. I used to be extremely introverted and shy, to a maladive point, and managed to reverse it back to an equilibrium where I'm comfortable and even shinning socially.
Meanwhile I've been knowing people that never got past that though I know they've suffered it.
I guess you can always try the slow approach, treating shy people with babygloves and all but in turn I don't think it's doing them any good
Seriously just bee yurself with shy fucks and if they won't keep up then slow down. But it'll always be up to them to change that, and you have no power over it.

As an actual shy person I agree with this, people will open up at their own pace, if they don't want to then trying to help them will just make them want you to fuck off.

Talk at them, not with them. Never force them in a situation where they feel forced to respond.
Eventually they'll start warming up to you.
