I've just started to get into the dating scene, I'm a 27/m did 10 years in the Army and now have nice civ job.
Would apps/sites like tinder etc help me find a real soulmate or is it just for casual hookups ?
A lot of girls on dating sites are looking for losers to inflate their ego ,wallet or closet. You can make relationships with these girls though its just how you handle yourself so they ultimately think "this guy isnt like all the other clowns I meet who pester me for sex,get intensely sappy, or kneel when I say kneel"

That sounds alright, I'm not one of those pushover guys and can handle myself pretty well. hopefully I find a girl with similar interests and start from there.

>Tinder
Mainly hookups
>POF
Somewhere in the middle
>OKC
More relationshippy
>Bumble
Fuckin' beats me
They're all a little different in my experience.

Try BlendR for hookups. In some countries Tinder as well.
POF and OK Cupid are better for relationships, but better use niche sites, like Hobby / religion/ interest based dating sites.
As well realize that online you are as a man on a disadvantage compared to RL dating, due to the MASSIVE amount of messages sent to grills by men.

What sort of hobby sites are there? I'm really not up to date with this stuff

I'm also curious.
Also, had anyone any luck with OKC?
I have it for almost a weak and it's somewhat impossible to casualy chat with a girl. Most of the time they respond like once a day wich is really annoying.

I met my last girlfriend on OKC.
OKC isn't for chatting 1:1 in real time. You log in, you log out, you go back and check. Show some patience. It's annoying to have people expect immediate answers from you. Any girl on there isn't my girlfriend yet, I'll get to it when I get to it.

Mate, just google your hobby etc.

> tinder is for hookups
I got the impression that there are plenty of people NOT looking for hookups on Tinder. I met my girlfriend (we've now been together for 18 months) there and I know she definitely wasn't looking for that.
A lot of dudes sent her shit like "sit on my face", so maybe don't do that.
That said, I apparently come across as really feminine (my girlfriend thought I was gay until our third date, when I kissed her), so this might just be my behavior causing my experience that it's not for hookups, as all the people I met through it seemed like they were only looking for relationships.
