I talk to girls online on okcupid, we talk about similar hobbies but I am not very good at taking it further from there. The only thing I have tried (unsuccessfully) is asking them out for coffee and get to know eachother. I even have trouble keeping the conversation going. Any tips?
Post your conversations so we can know more.
Me: What's your favorite David Howie song?
Her:Oh, that's hard. Queen Bitch, Life on Mars, it depends on the day. Right now I'm really digging Blackstar.
Me:Nice. Blackstar was my first. I started listening to him after he died. =/
Her:Really? Oh my gosh there's so much good stuff to discover! Like several decades' worth.
Me:Lol I know it. Don't worry though. I have listened to starman. Pretty damn beautiful song.
Her:It is a beautiful song. His songs have such unusual chord progressions, I love it.
What other music are you listening to these days?
Me:That's why I love it too. He's been so unique through all his career.
I've been listening to the mars Volta. Progressive rock band.
Other than David. What about you?
Her:I haven't listened to them much, but I like what I've heard. I'm really into this Australian band called Hiatus Kaiyote. and the latest A Tribe Called Quest album.
Me:Ill give those a listen when I get home. Tonight was crazy busy at work. How is being a librarian?
Also I feel this question is necessary too. Who are you in your profile picture? Lol
Me:I listened to haitus kaiyote. I like it. Only heard rap from eminem and I like the old school vibes from them.
Got the 2 names mixed up
Her:Oh, tribe? yeah they're awesome.
Me:Hey ever been to that place, "Rasputins" on Blackstone? Wondering if you wanted to go there together and share favorite bands. And maybe talk shit on least favorite music lol.
Her:Oh yeah, my favorite thing to do at Rasputin's is look through the discount record session...sometimes for music and sometimes for awesomely bad album covers.
Me: Lol, here's one of my favorite bad ones.

As far as cover art goes...
Her: Oh man that's intense.

She seems to be moderately interested at least. Post an example of you asking a girl out?

The example was in that post. I asked if she wanted to go to the record store "Rasputins" and to me it seemed like she acknowledged the record store but disregarded that I asked her to hang out over there. Maybe I overthought it?

Lel, sorry about that. I think you buried the actual question a bit, which made you come off a little unsure, maybe?
Usually, I just try to find the right moment and just be like "Haha, yeah, that [= whatever she just said] is awesome. Wanna grab a beer?" so there's not as much wiggle room.

I see what you're saying. I think I'll just straight up ask "hey when are you free? Lets go look at shitty music." Or something like that.
